Artist Statement
My interest in animation began during childhood, a time when I couldn’t keep my eyes away from cartoons and other animated media. This interest grew and led to me discovering design and animation can coexist in varying styles. Artists I’m inspired by have discovered how to utilize design and animation to communicate and entertain, capturing audiences through a simple element. My work aims to do the same; to entertain and please my audience’s eye through color, simplicity, and action.

Artist Bio
Krystyanna Joseph is a graphic designer and animator based in Plainfield, Illinois. In May 2023, she will earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Time Arts and Visual Communication (with Associate Honors) at Northern Illinois University (NIU), where she created various styles of design and animation. Her style combines both color, minimalism, and geometric shapes to capture a viewer’s attention. She has a strong interest in social media design, print design, web/mobile design, and motion graphics.
She currently works as a Graphic Design and Social Media Assistant for NIU’s Housing Department, designing social media graphics, short After Effects animations, posters, and other promotional materials. In her free time, she engages with different forms of media, such as metal music, films, games, comic books, and more.
