Alyssa Hoskins

Metalwork, Jewelry Design, Digital Fabrication

Artist statement

I make work that focuses on macabre subject matter without sacrificing beauty and function, creating couture jewelry that caters to unique aesthetics in the market. My designs speak in terms of eccentricities and incorporate unsettling visuals. I am inspired by traditional folklore, contemporary horror, and my own visceral nightmares. To balance the accessibility of conceptual design, I incorporate traditional materials and motifs. This balances the use of digital fabrication processes, and grounds these strange forms in reality. Through the process of creating these works, I seek equilibrium between my personal interests, and my professional goals.
