Artist Statement

Tabletop games and illustration are both life passions. My goal is to create tabletop games in a variety of genres with a lineless and colorblock style with fun textures. I create artwork that is fun to look at and is simple yet conveys a story.  I derive my inspiration from real life experiences and hobbies and through those whom I surround myself.  I hope to create fun and meaningful games for all audiences.

Artist Bio

Amanda Thompson is a digital illustrator from Rockford, Illinois. In 2019 she graduated from her community college, Rock Valley College, with an Associates of Arts and continued her college career at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL where she graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration.

Amanda’s main illustration focus is concept art for tabletop games, toys, and children’s books, as well as the package design for such products. She has been illustrating for more than a decade, first falling in love with How to Draw books in elementary school.

After honing traditional work in colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, graphite, and acrylic paint, she began to dabble in digital work within Photoshop, Illustrator, and Gimp. Today, she has mastered her artwork in Procreate for iPad, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other digital art programs. She also has experience in most other Adobe Cloud programs, ZBrush, PaintTool Sai, and Unity.

Amanda loves to spend her free time with friends and family playing board games over drinks and food, or playing video games on her own. When she’s not inside glued to a screen, she loves to thrift and antique, or spend a quiet day in a park.
