Artist Statement
For as long as I can remember I have always loved the idea of world building. Not only creating a story but creating an entire plane of existence that the story takes place on. For my BFA project I wanted to give the viewer a chance to put themselves into my story , because who doesn't want to be the hero of an adventure story? That being said, the genre of my game will be a choose your own adventure style of game , harkening back to the books I used to read with my siblings when I was a child. The player will be able to play through a custom scenario I have designed in which there are 6 possible endings to achieve, some are harder than others to get and some are easier. Whether your play style is more cautious or more daring the outcome of the main character is in the players hands.
While a game is fun, the immersion of a game can only take one so far. So to remedy this issue I have also designed 3 different props that are connected to the world in which my game is set. Through the use of foam, electronics and paint I have recreated the signature Axe of the main character, as well as the incendiaries that they use to exterminate their plant zombie enemies. And the cherry on top of the cake is the head of one of the zombies that harass the main character of this story. With the combination of my props and game I hope to give the viewer a chance to see the joy of worldbuilding and the amazing art that can come from it.
