Artist Statement
As a young woman, my womanhood, body, and femininity are constantly scrutinized and questioned. My work explores what womanhood is and can be, and takes back the power of sexuality, beauty, and femininity that is often exploited and used for profit and material gain. By taking that power back, I am using it to create work that offers a voyeuristic view into the sexual experiences of women, and sometimes includes a slight mockery of what is and isn’t “sexy” or “beautiful.” My work reflects my own journey through womanhood and the ever-present judgment of gender expression and sexuality.

Artist Bio
Brianna (she/her) earned her BFA in Illustration at Northern Illinois University, and has been creating and exploring different art mediums and subjects since she was a young girl.
Brianna is an Illinois native, and grew up in the Northwest Suburbs. Her experiences in small-town Illinois have helped project her into the world of gender and sexuality exploration through art. As a mid-size alternative woman, she is always pushing the envelope of femininity, and adding that edge to her work.
Her alternative style is prevalent in her work, and she strives to bring a balance between sensuality and eroticism.
In her personal life, Brianna is what some would call “mildly-threatening-looking, but with a good heart and a kind soul.” She has a plethora of knowledge of unusual, and often macabre, “fun facts” that she likes to share at inappropriate times, and often will listen to true crime podcasts while illustrating.
