Artist Statement
I am inspired my nature, cartoons, and many other things. I enjoy creating interesting environments that are either inspired by real life, or ones that exist in my imagination. Through my illustrations, I communicate a message, idea, or emotion using a two-dimensional medium. It is fascinating to me how people can create the illusion of different worlds on a screen or paper. This draws me towards many different kinds of illustration - book, editorial, background, etc.
Artist Bio
Heather is an Illustrator based in Chicago. She started her education at Elgin Community College, where she earned her Associate in Arts degree in 2019. She transferred to Northern Illinois University and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration in 2021.
For as long as she can remember, Heather has always loved creating art. Growing up, she spent many days drawing in notebooks and sketchbooks with pencil, ink pens, and colored pencils. Later, she was introduced to digital art, and decided to make it her main focus.
In her free time, Heather likes to sing, hang out with friends, and play games on her Nintendo Switch.
