Artist Statement

Everything has a reason. These are words I live by when I create. As someone that looks for an understanding to anything and everything life has to offer, I channel that curiosity into the art I make. I love the unknown and it is present in the environments I build, the characters I develop. The best way, the only way, that I can make those visions a reality is to make the most of 3D space. Using various industry standard 3D programs such as Maya and Zbrush I aim to build settings that demand exploration. My settings should tell a story that is created when someone interprets facts and details about the world. My characters should have depth that can build the pieces of their life story and how their surroundings influence them. Sometimes it is encouraged to assume. In this case, assumptions builds individuality, assuming your own interpretation of the story builds a connection between you and the art. Many themes in my work include some form of horror. These themes go hand in hand with my philosophy of the unknown, and in the most extreme cases, survival. How do you go about surviving in our world? You learn, you adapt. Everything is scary when you don’t understand it and my work aims to emulate that feeling.
