Artist Statement
Growing up, I had a burning passion for music, drawing, writing stories, and movies, so I always knew I’d want to be a part of films in some sort of way, whether it was being a musician for the film’s score or a post-production artist. However, I was pressured early on in school to decide on my career field and was told that choosing to be an artist would lead me to a competitive field and wouldn’t pay the bills. I researched more careers and found that engineering design could serve as a way to pursue my creative desire. However, after receiving my associate degree, I realized the next semester that through all the mathematics I was going through there were no opportunities to truly practice my artistry until after two or three degrees. So, I reconsidered my degree and chose to pursue my original dream in post-production.

ARTIST BIO
I started my pursuit in the Time Arts BFA program at NIU (Northern Illinois University) in the Spring of 2020, and I felt more alive and more at home in my work than ever. I continuously found myself as an artist and found that my experience in engineering serves me well in my art. I have an engineering mind; I am detail-oriented, technical, and able to problem-solve. Through my work, I believe I can tell a story and create a mood or emotion using my background in music theory, story writing, and engineering. I believe my engineering and musical background will be incredibly useful in my career ahead. I have also learned many techniques in my studio and Time Arts courses that I will be able to pair with my natural creative eye and creative ear.
Because of the degree that was available to me, I have not specialized in a specific skill, so I have learned to be open-minded about where my career will lead me. However, I aspire to be a post-production artist working on live-action films or TV shows in the future and have shown interest in terrain modeling and video editing. I strive to be a part of amazing film projects that have produced astonishing, out-of-this-world visual marvels bringing my skills to the table for collaboration.
